Chelsea's Player Ratings: Chelsea's 1-4 pre-season defeat to Celtic

The Blues are yet to win in the new pre-season despite a bright start from Carney Chukwuemeka who almost scored, but Celtic took the lead through Matt O’Reilly in the 19th minute before Kyoko Furuhashi added another goal to confirm the sharpness of the Scottish team even though Chelsea had more possession. At the start of the second half, Chelsea changed three players

to fight but still got back to their old form and were hit by Celtic with 2 more goals in short time from Luis Palma and Mikey Johnston, one of which came from Chelsea’s defensive mistakes. Although they scored the first goal from the penalty spot by Christopher Nkunku, they could not turn the situation around.

Wesley Fofana – 6/10

Has pace that can run after opponents well, but his ball skills still need some improvement. Today’s defense was not solid, but in the offensive game, he had a chance to head the ball with full force, but it didn’t go into the frame.

Benoit Badiashile – 5/10

Today he played without any form, lost the ball a lot, did not pass the long ball well, was unreliable in defense, and made a mistake in passing the ball which led to another goal.

Levi Colville – 6/10

Played the best of the centres today but was still average. He was good at opening up from the back.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Robert Sanchez – 7/10

Despite conceding two goals, Sanchez was in fine form today, making a number of saves, most notably a close-range effort from Kyo Go Furuhashi in the first half, and even coming out to intercept the ball outside the box.

Noni Madueke – 6/10

Did everything well except for the final touch. Used his speed to create chaos and get the ball into the box. But his shooting and passing skills need some work.

Reece James – 6.5/10

Made his second appearance in midfield and was a decent performer. He played defensively and helped in attack, but his natural flow was lacking. If Enzo and Caicedo return, he will likely revert to right-back.

Romeo Lavia – 6/10

Still not a regular as a team player. Passing is still lacking. Defensively, he still can’t help his teammates much.

Mykhailo Mudryk – 5.5/10

Still couldn’t get himself into the ufabet https://ufabet999.app game, barely making an impact for the whole 45 minutes, only touching the ball 14 times and not having any significant moments.

Carney Chukwuemeka – 6/10

Played behind the striker but wasn’t very involved in the play. He mostly made runs into the goal but wasn’t clinical enough.

Christopher Nkunku – 7.5/10

The heart of Chelsea’s attack today, constantly getting into the game and linking up with his teammates, and even finding the back of the net himself, scoring a late penalty.

Mark Kiew – 7/10

Showing signs of success, has good technique and strength. He is a center forward who can drop deep or spread out to the side to link up with his teammates. He only needs to improve his sharpness.

Scored in the last match but played 45 minutes in this match and barely played any part in the game.

Tosin Adarabioyo – (on for Wesley Fofana 46′) – 6/10

Good long balls and passes but needs some fine tuning in defence.

Raheem Sterling – (replaced Mykhailo Mudryk 46′) – 6.5/10 His

physicality is starting to wear off, but he still has some scary pace. He hit the crossbar once, came on to draw three fouls for the team and even won a penalty.

Malo Gusto – (replaced Reece James 67′) – 6.5/10

Played up to standard in both defense and offense. Should be competing with Reece James for a starting spot this season.

Got a chance to play in the second game, drew 2 fouls for the team. Has a bright future but not at the top level yet.

Angelo – (replaced Noni Maduaake 79′) – 5.5/10

Didn’t make a huge impact on the game, was seen trying to dribble past his opponents but failed once.

Lucas Bergstrom – (replaced Robert Sanchez 80′) – 6/10

Was brought in to gain experience with the first team, made some saves, but given the current situation in Chelsea’s goalkeeping position, he probably won’t get to play easily.

Renato Vega – (replaced Levi Colwill 80′) – 6/10

Tall and intimidating, but only played 10 minutes and didn’t have any clear moments to judge.

Tyrick George – (replaced Mark Kiew 84′) – N/A
